What we collect and why
| When | What | Why, and our legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| You send an enquiry (the form on this site opens an email in your own mail app; nothing is submitted to our server) | Your name, company, email address, aircraft type, fleet size and anything you write | To answer you and, if you ask, to check window compatibility and quote a kit. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract. |
| You buy or borrow a kit | Contact and billing details, delivery address, aircraft registration and type, kit serial number, invoices and correspondence | To supply, invoice and support the kit, keep product traceability records and meet our legal obligations (tax, product safety, electrical waste). Legal basis: performance of a contract and legal obligation. |
| You report a problem or a test result | What you tell us about the flight, the aircraft, the window and the connection | To support you and to improve the product and its guidance. Legal basis: contract and our legitimate interest in product safety and improvement. |
| We send you updates | Your name and email address | Only if you have asked for them, or you are an existing customer and the message is about Skyledge products. You can stop them at any time with the link in each email or by writing to us. Legal basis: consent, or legitimate interest for existing customers. |
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use advertising cookies or trackers on this site. The site is static and sets no cookies of its own. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which may record standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) to deliver and protect the site.
- We do not receive anything from your Starlink account. Your Starlink Mini, plan and account are between you and Starlink, under Starlink's own privacy policy.
Who else sees it
Our email provider, our accountant and, where a sale is made, our insurer and any delivery company. If a component maker needs to be told about a safety issue, we pass on only what is needed. We do not transfer personal data outside the UK except where a provider is covered by UK adequacy rules or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a sale: up to 12 months. Customer, kit and invoice records: 10 years, which is how long product liability and tax rules can reach back. Marketing contact details: until you ask us to stop.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict it or move it to someone else. Email hello@skyledge.co.uk. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced on the site.
